Overview Wound Care Registered Nurse Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Wound Care Registered Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide specialized care to patients with various types of wounds, ensuring optimal healing and patient comfort. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of wound care principles, excellent clinical skills, and a commitment to providing compassionate patient care. You will be responsible for assessing wounds, implementing appropriate treatments, educating patients and families, and documenting care accurately. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including wound measurement, tissue type identification, and pain assessment. Develop and implement individualized wound care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Perform wound cleansing, debridement, and dressing changes according to established protocols. Educate patients and families on wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and potential complications. Monitor wound healing progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Document all wound care interventions and patient responses accurately and timely in the electronic health record (Paragon). Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care. Adhere to all infection control policies and procedures. Float to Med/Surg if coming from DOU/Tele. ICU may be asked to work DOU/TELE. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. Minimum of 2 years of experience in wound care. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license. Must be COVID-19 vaccinated with no exemptions. Preferred Qualifications Completion of an accredited Enterostomal Therapy Training program. Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN), Wound Care Certified (WCC), Certified Wound Specialist (CWS), Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) or Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) certification. Skills & Competencies Proficient in wound assessment and management techniques. Knowledge of various wound care products and their appropriate use. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in electronic health record documentation (Paragon).
