District Sales Manager - Primary Care - New England

Amgen Inc

Amgen seeks a District Sales Manager for the New England primary care region to lead sales teams and drive performance across the territory. The role involves managing district operations, coaching sales staff, tracking marketing effectiveness, and building relationships with healthcare providers to advance the company's pharmaceutical portfolio. This position requires cross-functional collaboration and accountability for achieving sales targets and budget goals.

Responsibilities

Serve as liaison to customers, providing clinical product knowledge to medical professionals
Manage district sales teams to maximize performance and achieve sales targets
Screen, interview, hire, and develop sales representatives for the district
Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and competency assessments for direct reports
Coordinate cross-functional communication with marketing, finance, and other business units

Requirements

Doctorate degree with 2 years sales/marketing experience, or equivalent education/experience combination
2 years managerial experience directly managing people or leading teams
Specialty sales experience in biologics preferred
Clinical knowledge and ability to articulate clinical concepts and data
Experience with buy and bill model preferred
Strong coaching and performance management capabilities
