Federal Brief Writer Attorney

A law firm seeks a Federal Brief Writer Attorney to join their Complex Litigation practice group in Washington, DC. The role involves working on mass tort and class action cases in federal venues. Candidates with over five years of experience may request office placement in other states. Duties Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw to find applicable case law. Draft and edit briefs for high-profile litigation matters. Collaborate with a team of experienced attorneys on complex cases. Requirements Exceptional research skills with proficiency in Westlaw. Submission of at least two legal writing samples demonstrating research abilities. Entry-level candidates should have moot court, externship, or fellowship experience. Experienced candidates should have prior federal litigation experience or have served as an appellate or federal law clerk. Entry-level candidates must take the state bar before the start date; experienced candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the state bar. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree required. Certifications State bar admission required. Skills Strong legal research and writing skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent communication and analytical skills.
