Travel Medical Assistant Near Santa Monica, CA Area Length of Assignment: 13-Week Contract (Full-Time / Part-Time / Per Diem Shifts Available) Overview Our Client is a nonprofit, independent healthcare organization committed to improving the health status of the communities we serve through: Leadership and excellence in delivering quality healthcare services Expanding the horizons of medical knowledge through biomedical research Educating and training physicians and healthcare professionals Responsibilities Greet patients, take appropriate vital signs, review current meds and record in medical record. Assist with tracking and monitoring department specific data. Explain policies, procedures, or services to patients based on scope of practice. Set up exam/procedure rooms appropriate to the patient visit needs. Clean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelines. Administer immunizations, injections, or oral medications as directed by provider. Process and track referrals and authorizations for various insurance types. Draw and prepare designated lab work or specimens as directed by provider. Qualifications Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP accredited program OR national certification through AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, or MMCI. Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans. 6+ month working as an MA in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting. Proficiency with blood/lab draws and venipuncture. Preferred Qualifications 2+ years working as a MA in Internal Medicine.
