Software Engineer

Software EngineerGenesis10 is currently seeking a software engineer for a contract position with a major financial institution located in McLean, VA or Richmond, VA. This is a five-month contract opportunity.This role will lead and support the migration of legacy systems to a new, serverless platform, with a focus on pipelines and compliance. The ideal candidate will collaborate with multiple application and platform engineering teams, providing tier 2 support and utilizing technologies such as Terraform, Docker, and AWS services. This position involves managing daily operational tasks while ensuring the platform is optimized and scalable.Responsibilities:Lead and support the migration of legacy systems to a new, serverless platform, with a focus on pipelines and complianceCollaborate with three application teams and one platform engineering team, working directly with six application engineers and five platform engineersProvide tier 2 support for platform-related issues, supporting up to 70 other teamsUtilize technologies such as Terraform, Docker, Jenkins, GitHub, Fargate, and Lambda to optimize systems and ensure scalabilityManage daily operational tasks and assist in the troubleshooting and optimization of the platformEnsure the platform is as compliant as possible during the transition to new technologiesAct as a primary point of contact for platform support, with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teamsRequirements:Five to seven years of software engineering experience, with a strong understanding of legacy systemsProficiency with technologies such as Terraform, Docker, Jenkins, GitHub, Fargate, Lambda, and containersStrong experience with system migrations and working with pipelinesFamiliarity with serverless architectures and cloud-based systemsExcellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with cross-functional teamsAbility to manage daily tasks and provide support while contributing to ongoing platform improvementsExperience with Java and PythonExperience with AWSExperience with Splunk and New RelicPay range: $80.06 - $88.06 per hourOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
