26-27 Substitute Bus Monitor

Job Title

Assist bus driver in providing safe transportation for handicapped students.

Instructs students and teachers in emergency bus evacuation procedures twice a year.

Instructs students in proper bus conduct.

Reports misconduct on bus through established district procedures.

Assists Bus Driver with cleaning bus interior and exterior as needed.

Completes daily paperwork as required.

Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to lift 40 pounds.

Possess a current First Aid Card

Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

Must be able to work patiently with special needs students.

Ability to enter and exit bus using emergency exit.

Ability to walk, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, kneel, crawl, and grasp as required to successfully perform all duties and requirements.

Ability to adjust focus (adjust the eye to bring and object into sharp focus), clear vision at 20 inches or less, and clear vision at 20 feet or more.

Such alternatives to above qualifications as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Transportation Supervisor
