Pediatric IV Therapy NurseJob Title: Pediatric IV Therapy Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric IV Therapy Vascular Access Team Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Mid shifts Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric vascular access License: Registered Nurse license required Certifications: BLS certification required Must-Have: - Experience with ultrasound guided IV placement and vein finder - Experience on a pediatric vascular access team - Experience from a dedicated children's hospital - Pediatric vascular access experience in areas such as HemeOnc and ICU Description: The role requires experience in pediatric vascular access techniques. Candidates must be proficient in ultrasound-guided peripheral venous access. The nurse will perform IV placements efficiently and monitor IVs for patency. There is a need for skills in site and vessel selection and assessment. In addition, the nurse must be able to make recommendations on the types of IVs to use. The position involves working with pediatric patients who have veins that are difficult to locate. The nurse will support a diverse range of patients, including adolescents and adults. Flexibility to work weekend shifts is essential for this role. Experience in handling implanted vascular access devices and PICC lines is required.
