Mott MacDonald is looking for a Construction Manager/Resident Engineer to join our ever‑expanding construction management team in the Southern California Region. We are currently looking for a professional with experience in water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and pipeline projects. Job Responsibilities Lead on‑site delivery of construction management (CM) services and manage a staff of CM professionals including Assistant RE/CMs, Office Engineers, Inspectors, and other CM professionals, as necessary. Support construction safety implementation through understanding of safety requirements. Confirm construction contractor safety programs are submitted, approved, and followed by all parties involved in the project. Implement schedule, cost, quality, communication, decision‑making, and information tools and processes across the project. Support program and project controls activities such as schedule control, cost control, change management, risk management, and reporting tools. Lead project meetings with contractor and stakeholders. Monitor the contract progress and make recommendation to client for contractor payments. Work to build a cooperative partnership between client, contractors, and all stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of project issues and the overall success of the project. Responsible for the enforcement of contract documents including plans and specifications. Understanding of start‑up and commissioning plans and identify associated resources as necessary. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, civil engineering, construction management, or related degree. 10–15 years of experience performing construction management. OSHA safety training. Construction management experience working on water/wastewater conveyance pipelines, pump stations, and treatment plant projects (pressurized machine preferred). Proficiency in the use of computers to prepare reports using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledgeable in document tracking and P6 software. Experience working in/for municipal agencies or utility infrastructure organizations. Ability to respond proactively in a high‑paced environment and willingness to adjust and respond effectively to changes. PE and/or CCM in California preferred. The expected salary for this position is $151,000–$185,000. Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.
