About the Role

CubX is looking for a Senior Product Designer to own the design of complex internal and client-facing IT products and workflows.

This is a hands-on product design role for someone who can take a messy operational problem, understand how it actually works, turn it into a clear system, and design a polished, intuitive product experience.

You'll work across UX, interaction design, systems design, and visual UI design . Strong systems thinking is essential, but so is strong visual craft.

We're looking for someone who can determine what should be built, how it should work, and what the final product should look and feel like.

This is not a role where you hand off a workflow diagram or wireframe and move on. You'll own the experience from discovery and problem definition through polished, implementation-ready designs.

What You'll Do

• Own end-to-end product design for complex internal operational tools, many of which may eventually extend into client-facing experiences.
• Turn manual and ambiguous processes currently handled through tickets, spreadsheets, notes, conversations, and human judgment into structured product workflows.
• Partner closely with product, engineering, operations, and other stakeholders to understand how processes work today and determine how they should work in software.
• Define the underlying structure of complex experiences, including:
• User flows and information architecture
• Roles and permissions
• Approval paths
• System states and edge cases
• Business rules
• Configuration models
• Error and exception handling
• Ask strong questions during discovery and challenge assumptions when requirements are unclear, incomplete, or unnecessarily complicated.
• Determine what should be solved through UX, what should be configurable, and what logic belongs within the underlying system.
• Create wireframes and interactive prototypes to validate workflows before moving into detailed design.
• Design polished, production-ready interfaces in Figma .
• Design real operational UI, including forms, tables, dashboards, navigation, configuration interfaces, admin controls, filters, bulk actions, permissions, empty states, error states, and loading states.
• Collaborate closely with engineering throughout implementation to resolve details and ensure the shipped product reflects the intended experience.
• Help establish reusable components, patterns, and design standards across a growing multi-product platform.
• Design experiences that serve both internal operators who need power, efficiency, and flexibility and end users who need clarity and simplicity .

What We're Looking For

You have strong product design experience working on complex software products , particularly in areas such as:

• B2B SaaS
• Internal tools
• Admin platforms
• Enterprise software
• Workflow-heavy applications
• Configuration-heavy systems

You should be comfortable taking a vague business problem and independently turning it into:

Problem Definition → Workflow → System Model → UX → Polished UI → Implementation-Ready Design

Strong candidates will have experience with:

• Product and UX discovery
• Complex workflow design
• Information architecture
• Interaction design
• High-quality visual UI design
• Forms and configuration experiences
• Tables and data-heavy interfaces
• Role-based access and permissions
• Approval workflows
• Edge cases and system states
• Design systems and reusable components
• Prototyping in Figma
• Cross-functional collaboration with engineering and operations

Strong Visual Craft Is Required

• This is not a purely visual design role, but visual design is an essential part of the job .
• We need someone who can untangle a complicated workflow and create the right system behind it—and then turn that thinking into a polished, intuitive, professional product interface.
• You'll be expected to own both the underlying UX logic and the final UI .
• A designer who creates beautiful screens but struggles with systems thinking will not be successful in this role.
• Likewise, a designer who is strong at research, diagrams, and wireframes but cannot produce high-quality final product designs will not be successful.

We're looking for someone who can do both.

You'll Be Designing for Complexity

Many of our products operate in environments where seemingly simple actions can have significant downstream consequences.

You'll need to naturally think through questions such as:

• Who is allowed to perform this action?
• Does someone else need to approve it?
• What happens if the request is rejected?
• What changes depending on the client, user, location, or role?
• What should be configurable versus hardcoded?
• What information does an internal operator need that an end user shouldn't see?
• What happens when something fails halfway through a workflow?
• How do we make a powerful system simple without removing necessary flexibility?

We're looking for a designer who naturally considers these questions while designing—not only after problems arise.

Nice to Have

• MSP or IT operations
• IT service management
• Provisioning

• Multi-tenant SaaS
• Security-sensitive products
• Rule-based or configuration-heavy software
• AI-assisted design and development workflows

Prior MSP experience is not required. However, you should be comfortable learning operationally complex domains and translating them into understandable software experiences.

What Success Looks Like

• You're able to take a process currently managed through tickets, spreadsheets, notes, tribal knowledge, and human judgment and turn it into a productized workflow with clear rules and minimal ambiguity .
• You understand that scalable product design isn't just about designing screens.
• You think about: Systems. Rules. Metadata. Permissions. Configuration. Edge cases. Reusable patterns.
• You consider how the product will evolve—not only what it needs to accomplish today.
• At the same time, you care deeply about the quality of the interface users actually experience.
• Your work makes complicated systems feel understandable without hiding the complexity that operators genuinely need.

You can effectively design for both:

• Internal operators , who need efficiency, visibility, control, and flexibility.
• End users , who need simplicity, guidance, and confidence.

Most importantly, you can partner closely with engineering to turn those designs into real, shipped software .

What This Role Is Not

• This is not primarily a branding or marketing design role.
• This is not a UX-only role that stops at research, journey maps, flows, or wireframes.
• This is not a purely visual role where requirements are handed to you and your job is simply to make them look better.
• This is not a junior production design role.

We're looking for a Product Designer who can understand the problem, design the system, and design the actual product.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Product Design experience building B2B SaaS, enterprise software, internal tools, or workflow-driven products.
• Proven ability to take ambiguous business problems from discovery through shipped product.
• Strong systems-thinking skills with experience defining workflows, permissions, approvals, business rules, configurations, system states, and edge cases.
• Experience designing complex operational software, including forms, tables, dashboards, admin tools, and configuration interfaces.
• Strong UX, interaction design, information architecture, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong visual design skills with the ability to create polished, production-ready interfaces.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including prototyping and design systems.
• Experience collaborating closely with engineering, product, and operational stakeholders.
• Ability to lead discovery, ask insightful questions, challenge assumptions, and clarify requirements.
• Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership from problem definition → workflow design → UX → final UI → implementation.

• Experience with enterprise software, internal tools, workflow automation, configuration-heavy systems, or multi-tenant SaaS.
• Experience designing role-based access, approval workflows, and administrative platforms.
• Familiarity with MSP, IT Operations, ITSM, provisioning, procurement, inventory, or asset management systems.
• Experience designing security-sensitive or rules-based products.
• Experience using AI-assisted design and product development workflows.
