STATUS: FULL-TIME (EXEMPT)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Local Programming Coordinator will be in charge of the organization and running of the facility's sports and non-sports programs, including leagues, tournaments, after-school programs, and any other programs held. The Local Programming Coordinator will work closely with other departments to assist in hiring, training, management, and staff scheduling. The Coordinator will work closely with the individual leaders of each program as well as other internal departments (Operations, Marketing, etc.) in order to successfully accomplish these responsibilities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Coordinate the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of youth and adult leagues, camps, clinics, tournaments, and other local programming under the direction of facility leadership
• Coordinate administrative processes for assigned programs, including registration, rosters, divisions, schedules, standings, participant records, rules, and program guidelines
• Coordinate facility and program schedules based on availability, participation, tournaments, rentals, association usage, maintenance needs, and other facility activities
• Serve as a primary point of contact for participants, parents, coaches, officials, instructors, and program partners by providing timely information regarding schedules, rules, weather, cancellations, and other program details
• Recruit and coordinate officials, instructors, coaches, and program staff in collaboration with facility leadership to ensure programs are appropriately staffed and prepared
• Track registration, participation, revenue, expenses, retention, and overall program performance; provide regular updates and recommendations to facility leadership
• Assist with preparing program budgets and monitoring program-related revenue and expenses, including staffing, supplies, officials, and other operating costs
• Coordinate with Marketing to promote programming, increase participation, and identify potential programming opportunities based on community interest, participation trends, and facility availability
• Provide on-site program support and supervision by addressing participant concerns, scheduling conflicts, rule questions, and operational needs, escalating issues to facility leadership when appropriate
• Build and maintain relationships with local schools, youth sports organizations, community groups, instructors, and other programming partners
• Support the hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of part-time programming staff in collaboration with facility leadership
• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned and in accordance with facility procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in recreation, sports management, event management, education, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered

• 1-2 years of experience in recreation, sports programming, community programming, event management, hospitality, education, facility operations, or a related field preferred

• Must have proven track record of developing, marketing, and selling recreation and training programs
• Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and negotiating skills
• Must be a team player
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays
• Must possess current CPR/FIRST AID certifications or must be willing to obtain them within a specified period
• Experience coaching/teaching both youth and adult sports

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds' waist high
• May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
• Will be required to operate a computer
• Facility has intermittent noise
