Staff Accountant

A growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. Key Responsibilities A growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This position plays a key role in supporting the monthly close process, maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and analyzing financial data to ensure reporting accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting foundation, strong analytical skills, and experience working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement and collaboration are highly valued. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations, including complex cash reconciliations and analysis. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies, ensuring accurate financial reporting. Maintain accounting records related to accruals, prepaids, rebates, royalties, and other general ledger activity. Assist with month-end reporting packages and provide variance analysis for management review. Support internal control procedures and ensure compliance with accounting policies and applicable standards. Coordinate with external auditors and assist with audit requests and supporting documentation. Analyze financial information and provide recommendations to improve efficiencies and reporting accuracy. Support process improvement initiatives, automation projects, and system enhancements. Research technical accounting matters and prepare supporting documentation and accounting memorandums as needed. Partner with managers across departments to provide financial information and support operational decision-making. Contribute to special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. 2-4+ years of accounting experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or a related environment. Strong understanding of financial reporting principles and general accounting practices. Experience with account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and financial analysis. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications CPA or CMA designation, or progress toward certification. Experience working with ERP systems in a multi-entity environment.
