Job TitleThe primary functions of this position are to ensure that all meals are prepared, cooked, and served in accordance with food quality and nutrition requirements and standards, kitchen operations are conducted in an efficient, sanitary, and conscientious manner while maintaining a safe and clean environment and assistance is provided to the Kitchen Manager to manage and coordinate meal preparation for an inpatient 24/7 healthcare facility serving in excess of 4,000 meals per month.Essential FunctionsSupervising the daily activities of cooksAssist with inventory, ordering, stockingEnsure adherence to food safety standards including storage and stock rotationPrepare and serve meals for patients and staffAssist with menu planningGuides and participates in the cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, utensils, hoods, floors and work surfacesAssist with training of other cooksEnsure all food preparation and kitchen is cleaned and ready for next shiftComplete all TGC required trainingsAble to effectively interact with staff and customersOther duties as assignedKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesRequired:Current food management certification or obtainable within 30 days of hireMust possess or be able to obtain a State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance CardAble to correctly use and read thermometerMinimum two (2) year experience in full service or institutional food service environment, preferably with high volumeHigh School Diploma or equivalentKnowledge of pertinent food service and sanitation regulationsAccommodation(s)TGC will provide reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities, unless it would cause undue hardship.
