Designer Salary

A Brief Overview The Designer Salary designs and completes layouts of commercial and complex residential roof and floor systems for pricing and manufacturing. The position requires complete independent judgment and oversight of structural and architectural design. What You Will Do Design commercial and complex residential roof and floor systems and produce layout. Discuss changes and corrections with engineers, architects, and contractors prior to and during construction. Present, sell, and follow up on new jobs. Prepare roof truss and truss joist layouts. Coordinate, sell, and do follow-ups of new jobs. Perform job-site inspections. Produce materials list. Determine special notes to append contracts. Resolve architectural and design discrepancies. Maintain computer system and perform routine upgrades to ensure accurate and current application. Assist in the shipping department. Required For All Jobs Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards. Adhere to company’s commitment to workplace safety. Participate in and complete assigned training. Education Qualifications Associate's Degree in civil, architectural or design related field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Applicable work experience may be substituted for education requirement. Experience Qualifications 3 years of drafting experience in a construction or building materials-related industry required. Skills And Abilities Proficient technical writing skills. Excellent salesmanship and communication skills. Special knowledge required—reading and interpreting blueprints in an architectural related industry. Other—PC literate with Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, and other design programs that facilitate learning in-house program with ease.
