Temporary Plant Accountant - Urgently hiring in Medina!

Job Title: Plant Accountant
Pay: $35-40 per hour
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Start Date: ASAP


Looking to build your career in manufacturing and inventory control ? A growing Medina-area manufacturer is seeking a temporary Plant Accountant to help maintain accurate inventory levels and support the efficiency of daily production operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, investigating discrepancies, and being part of a hands-on manufacturing environment.


In this role, you'll take ownership of inventory accuracy across raw materials, components, and finished parts . You'll perform routine cycle counts, prepare for audits, research variances, update inventory records, and partner with warehouse and production personnel to identify and resolve discrepancies.


What You'll Do
As a Plant Accountant, you will be responsible for:

• Working to prepare for audits, processing write-offs, journal entries, accruals and general ledger reconciliations
• Conduct routine inventory audits throughout production and warehouse areas to confirm physical quantities match system records.
• Locate and verify materials, components, and parts while comparing on-hand quantities to designated storage locations.
• Investigate inventory variances, identify potential causes of shortages, and document findings for management review.
• Work closely with production, warehouse, and accounting personnel to research discrepancies and maintain accurate inventory information.
• Apply an understanding of manufacturing and cost-accounting principles to track inventory activity and better understand material usage and associated costs.

What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Previous experience performing physical inventory counts, preferably within a manufacturing or production setting.
• Understanding of inventory costing principles and how materials and product movement impact financial records.
• Strong analytical abilities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing inventory data.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently while documenting results clearly and communicating discrepancies effectively.

Location & Schedule:
This position is on-site in Medina, OH, and offers a standard weekday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with overtime potential.
