Responsibilities
- Welcome and prepare patients for eye examinations.
- Obtain patient medical histories and update records.
- Perform preliminary testing, including visual acuity, auto-refraction, tonometry, and other diagnostic screenings.
- Assist the optometrist during patient exams and procedures.
- Educate patients on contact lens care, eyewear options, and treatment plans.
- Assist with frame selection and eyewear fittings as needed.
- Maintain exam rooms and ensure equipment is clean and functioning properly.
- Schedule appointments, answer phones, and assist with front office duties when needed.
- Provide outstanding customer service throughout the patient experience.
- Previous experience in an optometry, ophthalmology, or medical office preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer and electronic medical records (EMR) experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
