Applications Development Specialist II (Pediatric Physicians' Org.) Boston Children's Hospital Full-time Master (>10 yrs) Position Summary This Application Developer position is focused on building, supporting, and maintaining healthcare system interfaces. Responsibilities include specifying and designing interface architecture; developing, testing, validating, documenting, and monitoring HL7 interfaces using an integration engine such as Corepoint; supporting web services (SOAP) interfaces; and working with XML, CCDA, IHE, TCP/IP, SFTP, FTP, SSH, and authentication and credentialing (security). The role supports and troubleshoots interfaces across healthcare systems, including Epic (Epic Bridges certification preferred), Meditech, Quest Diagnostics, Athena, eCW, AllScripts, and Cerner, while partnering with application teams and vendors. The candidate administers test plans and scripts, provides operational reporting, and supports daily interface operations in a healthcare environment. This is a hybrid position with mandatory onsite responsibilities at our Wellesley location. Key Responsibilities Researches and identifies requirements for information system programmatic needs. Specifies and designs new solutions, handling all aspects of the interface architecture process. Participates in interface projects by providing analytical and technical guidance to team members and project managers. Creates documentation for system changes and maintains build documentation; administers testing and completes validation of interfacing. Develops and prepares reports for operations, senior management, and other departments. Works with other application partners and vendors to resolve and troubleshoot interface‑related issues. Monitors and maintains daily functions of interfaces, working with edits. Answers support calls.
