Preschool Teacher

Job Description We are a small, traditional nonsectarian nursery program on the UES for children two through five years of age, seeking a full-time Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Classroom Teachers play an integral role in providing a warm, responsive and supportive atmosphere where children are able to learn and grow in all areas within a developmentally appropriate manner. Requirements/Expectations Create and implement a developmentally appropriate, balanced and emergent curriculum Maintain and manage an organized, safe and welcoming classroom learning environment Collaborate with co-teaching teams on curriculum development and classroom management Communicate professionally and positively with parents and caregivers The ideal candidate will: Be passionate about working with young children Have prior classroom experience, particularly Kindergarten Possess strong classroom management skills paired with an ability to plan and implement monthly/yearly curriculum, projects, and activities for the children Collaborate with colleagues, parents and administration Have excellent written and oral communication skills Have a flexible nature Bachelor’s Degree Preferred- Master’s degree or matriculation in a Master’s degree program in Early Childhood Education or a related field Preferred: NY State Certification, or working towards Certification #J-18808-Ljbffr National Association of Independent Schools
