Details Work on a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit with 18 private rooms and 1 semi-private room, accommodating a maximum census of 20 patients Care for a diverse patient population ranging from young adults to geriatrics with a broad range of care needs Maintain a 1:6 patient ratio Day shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) Work every other weekend (half of scheduled shifts) Utilize Epic EMR for charting Requirements Active TX or compact RN license required at time of submission Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Med/Surg-Tele nursing experience required BLS certification required; NIHSS certification preferred Epic charting experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management, central line care, and port access/management Experience managing telemetry monitoring, interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, and responding to Rapid Response/Code teams Proficient in wound care/wound vac management, isolation precautions/PPE, and respiratory care including oxygen administration Experience with gastrointestinal care such as colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management Knowledge of neurological conditions including CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care preferred Additional Information Provide comprehensive nursing care including medication administration (Heparin, Insulin, PCA), wound care, and IV therapy for a med/surg-tele patient population Not eligible for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility Not eligible for candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position All RTO must be submitted and listed at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none permitted during the first week of orientation Onboarding requires completion of core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing, including onsite orientation modules American Traveler Job ID P-748464.
