Job Title: Transportation Coordinator (Florida PACE Centers) Job Summary Under general supervision of the Transportation Manager, plans, organizes and implements the transportation services of the Day Health Center Essential Job Functions Plans and coordinates all scheduling activities related to transportation for MJH / PACE participants Supervises daily the activities of the Drivers Provides Human Resources Management in conjunction with the Transportation Manager of Drivers Responsible for coordination of all outside service providers of transportation Monitors drivers and ensures the safe operation of company vehicles Assures all necessary program records are maintained according to policy Completes other job duties related to the care and well-being of MJH PACE participants as assigned Participates in department meetings and in-services as necessary Education Job Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Experience Two years of supervisory experience preferred Licenses/Certifications Current Florida Driver’s License Class A, B or C with passenger endorsement Proof of car insurance Abilities Required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of Dade and Broward County streets Ability to deal with physical and emotionally frail, elderly and/or disabled persons Ability to get in and out of the buses constantly to assist passengers Must attend and pass safety driving program annually, and maintain good driving record Operates equipment to assist disabled persons Environment Work Conditions Heavy lifting and pushing of wheelchairs Outside environmental conditions Infectious Material Exposure Possible exposure to blood/body fluids/tissues Organizational Expectations Ensures that resident’s/patient’s rights are adhered to Demonstrates professionalism and accountability Demonstrates a caring attitude consistent with Miami Jewish EmpathicareSM toward MJH residents, patients, family members, employees, and other facility guests Demonstrates excellent communication skills Ensures confidentiality and security of patients’ medical information Identifies and utilizes appropriate channels of communication Able to speak, read and write English Able to think and act calmly to meet unusual occurrences of the job Adheres to the organization’s Mission, Vision and Values Participates in departmental activities, meetings and in-services and follows established guidelines Maintains a safe working environment The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
