Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Critical Care Unit setting serving adult and geriatric populations, including patients with respiratory failure, stroke, STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, GI bleeds, and post-operative conditions
• Manage critical care drips and titrations, mechanical ventilators, arterial lines, chest tubes, and central venous lines including large-volume vas caths
• Perform and interpret ECG rhythms, labs, and ABGs; perform IV starts, blood draws, and NG tube placements
• Operate and monitor advanced equipment including CRRT (Prismaflex), Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, SpaceLabs bedside monitoring, and various ventilator types
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures and conscious sedation; communicate with care team via mobile communication application
• Float as needed to CVICU, Critical Care Step-Down, and Med-Surg departments based on unit census and staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU/Critical Care nursing experience (5 years strongly preferred)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Proficiency in critical care nursing skills including ventilator management, arterial lines, chest tubes, and central venous line care
• Completion of required online learning modules including Moderate Sedation/Analgesia, iStat, and glucometer certifications

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a high-acuity ICU managing advanced devices such as CRRT, IABP, and arterial sheath pulls
• Background in SICU, MICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, or PCU/Med-Surg settings
• Experience working in a teaching hospital environment alongside resident physicians
• Familiarity with Meditech EHR and SpaceLabs bedside monitoring systems
