Teller - Full-time

Teller IA Teller undertakes bank transactions and interacts directly with customers. A Teller is usually the first person a customer sees when they walk into one of our locations. This position will be required to work into a Saturday rotation.Essential functions, duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Greets all customers and visitors when they enter the location lobby or approach the drive-thruProcesses daily transactions including receiving deposits, cashing checks, accepting loan payments, and disbursing cashIdentifies counterfeit currencyCashes checks and payout money after verifying that signatures are correct, that written and numerical amounts agree, and that accounts have sufficient fundsExplains, promotes, and sells specialized products such as cashier's checks and prepaid gift cardsExchanges foreign currencyPerforms services for customers including ordering bank cards and checksRecords all transactions promptly, accurately, and in accordance with bank proceduresAnswers inquiries regarding checking and savings accounts and other bank related productsAssists customers in solving account errors or problems, providing account balances, etc.Balances currency, cash and checks in cash drawer daily; arrange monies according to denominationPromotes and maintains positive relations with all contacts, customers, and potential customersMay be responsible for bank openings and/or closingsMay be required to work drive thruMay be required to float to other locationsEducation, experience and qualifications:Required: High School or GEDMinimum: One (1) year of teller experience required; customer service experience preferredRequired: Independence Bank Teller Certification within 6 monthsRequires completion of Teller Fundamentals and Teller Level Up training within three (3) monthsCore competencies:Customer/client orientationCash handlingOral communication skillsProblem-solving skillsAccuracy and attention to detailSituational judgment skillsAbility to maintain confidential informationWorking conditions:Indoors, environmentally controlled.
