As a key member of the sales leadership team, the Regional Sales Director (RD) is responsible for the Surgical Structural Heart business in the Midwest Region which includes Chicago, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas. The Regional Director must live in the defined territory. This role drives the achievement of sales and profit objectives by leading the sales and clinical teams, providing day to day direction, and partnering across business units when necessary. Responsibilities Serve as a change agent and provide leadership to create a high trust culture and environment. Coordinate and execute specific objectives of the Sales Strategy. Establish sales targets, manage budget, and inventory. Handle talent management responsibilities: hiring, retaining and developing talent, developing succession plans and proactively managing performance. Collaborate with functional departments of the company, including Operations, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Clinical Affairs. Plan and prepare forecasts by account, product and therapy for the region and propose expenses for meetings and customer activities. Facilitate the flow of information from the field into Sales Operations, Marketing and occasionally into RD & Business Development. Collaborate with Marketing, Professional Education, and KOLs to develop value-added strategies, tools, programs and services. Attend professional education events throughout the year. Maintain current knowledge of competitive business strategies and product pipeline, healthcare economics, regulatory and legislative activities and incorporate into regional sales plans and strategies. Manage and adhere to T&E expense budget, inventory management, and other variable expenses. Lead pricing strategy, negotiations, and contract renewals. Develop and manage strategic plans for key accounts within the region. Provide strategic input to Marketing, Sales, R&D, Operations, etc. Deliver expected field-based travel of 75% with weekend responsibilities and attend conferences where there is a high concentration of regional KOLs. Qualifications – Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related field plus related experience in operations management at a regional level or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria. Demonstrated track record in people management. Qualifications – Preferred Dynamic leader with experience managing the sale of clinically complex and new product launches in the medical device space. Strong skills in leadership, coaching, counseling, budgeting, negotiating, selling, and strategic planning. Experience implementing change while being open to differing ideas and viewpoints. Ability to make difficult decisions around people, process and products. Strong business and financial acumen. Strategic input to Marketing, Sales, R&D, Operations, etc. Creative, strategic, analytical and financial skills with an ability to understand competition and industry trends. Ability to foster and develop effective internal and external business relationships at all levels. Compensation & Benefits Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families. For Illinois (IL), the base pay range for this position is $165,000 to $194,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
