Controller
Mental Health Partnerships (MHP) is a mission-driven nonprofit organization committed to supporting individuals, families, and communities through behavioral health services, peer support, and recovery-focused programs. MHP operates in a grant- and contract-funded environment and is committed to responsible financial stewardship and ensuring its resources support its mission and the communities it serves.
Mental Health Partnerships is seeking an experienced Controller to join its financial leadership team and help support the financial strength of a mission-driven nonprofit organization. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will lead day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, grant and contract accounting, audit readiness, internal controls, and the development of the accounting team.

The Controller will have the opportunity to play an important financial leadership role in an established nonprofit organization whose work directly impacts individuals, families, and communities. The position offers meaningful responsibility for the financial operations that support MHP's programs and mission, along with the opportunity to partner closely with the CFO and organizational leadership, develop the accounting team, strengthen financial systems and processes, and help position the organization for continued financial strength and sustainability.

- Serve as a key financial resource for funders, including financial reporting, audits, monitoring requests, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Coordinate annual financial statement audits, regulatory reviews, and monitoring visits.
- Support Single Audit preparation, including schedules, work papers, and SEFA support when applicable.
- Coordinate financial information for Form 990, BCO-10, and other required filings in partnership with external advisors.
- Support compliance with federal and state grant and contract requirements, including Uniform Guidance and 2 CFR 200, as applicable.
- Lead, supervise, and develop accounting staff and ensure consistent, accurate, and timely financial processes.
- Partner with department leaders to review financial results, identify trends and risks, and support informed decision-making.
- Communicate financial information and compliance requirements clearly to financial and non-financial audiences.
- Participate in cross-functional planning and organizational initiatives.
