Structural Engineer

Job Description:General Summary:The Structural Engineer, with supervision from the Manager of Structural Engineering or Project Engineer, will provide the technical, organizational and communication skills to produce well-designed and coordinated construction documents for structural systems.Essential Job Functions:Keep current with latest code publications and apply in everyday analysis as applicableFormulate design and/or analysis of structural framing systems and perform necessary calculationsPerform basic engineering analysis including lateral design with limited guidance.Conduct field measuring and checking at construction site to verify existing conditionsAbility to prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications to comply with company standards.Communicate with other disciplines to produce well-coordinated construction documentsReview shop drawing submittals to assure design intent is metMaintain project file containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference material, etc.Communicate scope changes to Manager of Structural Engineering and Project ManagerUse available structural computer programs to enhance productivity and verifies results with manual checksAct as a positive representative of the company and its core valuesAssist interns with day-to-day tasks.Performs related duties as assignedEmployment Qualifications:Education:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferredProfessional Registration requiredExperience:5-10 years of related experience in the structural engineering fieldSkills/Competencies:Analysis: Risa, RAM, ETABS, and/or SAP2000 preferredDrafting: Revit and BluebeamBenefits:At Ghafari, we offer a robust benefits package designed to support your overall wellbeing.
