Associate Director Patent Attorney

Director Patent Attorney position providing legal counsel on intellectual property development, protection, and management for manufacturing and bioprocessing technologies. The role involves patent prosecution, landscape analysis, and administrative patent actions across Regeneron's development pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Identify, capture, and prosecute new inventions in manufacturing and bioprocessing
- Prepare and prosecute global patent applications covering cell development, purification, assay development, formulation, and packaging
- Conduct patent landscape, freedom-to-operate, validity, and patentability analyses for pipeline products
- Lead US and foreign administrative patent actions including oppositions and inter partes reviews
- Support due diligence, transactional work, and advise on emerging legal and legislative developments
Requirements
- Ph.D. in life sciences (biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or related field)
- Juris Doctorate from accredited law school
- USPTO admission and state bar licensure (NY bar or in-house eligible)
- 5–10 years patent prosecution experience in biological arts at law firm
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Ability to manage complex dockets with minimal direction
Compensation: $205,000–$341,600 base annually
