Join our team and be part of an organization that values teamwork, integrity, and a commitment to a sustainable future.The Site Services Technician role is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain process and facility equipment in wastewater plants. This work is completed according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the company's business goals and objectives. This is a mobile position covering the service areas of New Jersey and New York. The Site Services Technician reports directly to the Director of Site Services - Maintenance and Repair in NSU's Hillsborough Offices.Duties and Responsibilities:Diagnose issues with pumps, mixers, blowers, valves, and conveyors. Identify causes of vibration, overheating, seal failures, and abnormal noise. Inspect and troubleshoot piping blockages, leaks, and mechanical wear.Perform general preventative and corrective maintenance on treatment plant equipment such as valve replacement, pump replacement, piping repairs, blower and compressor services.Identify and troubleshoot issues with operations and materials, implement resolutions, and report any defects or unusual situations to the appropriate supervision.Mechanically inclined and eager to acquire new skills and work in a hands-on environment.Willing to learn to operate heavy equipment and obtain crane certification with training provided.Interest in water and wastewater treatment operations.Operate hand and power tools of all types: mechanical hoists, core drill, hammer drill, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.Assist with site preparation for various repair projects.Provide detailed notes within NSU's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system on hours worked, parts and materials used, and additional notes on work performed.Assist other craft workers when needed in completion of work orders.Work conscientiously and be aware of all safety hazards, ensure safety of others, and follow all NSU's and client safety procedures.Available for 24-hour alarm response and participate in an on-call rotation.Effectively communicate the progress of repairs in a professional manner to employers, clients, visitors, or regulatory personnel.Ability to read, write, and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.Ability to work independently as required.Ability to travel within the Tri-State Area or other service areas as needed with occasional overnight stays for projects spanning more than one day when it makes economic sense.Maintain receipts and accurate records for fuel, mileage, timesheets, expenses, etc.Ensure adherence to current company safety training and standards at all times.Maintain a positive and professional attitude with teammates, clients, regulatory agencies, etc.Other duties as assigned by management.Qualifications:Must be 21 years of age or olderValid US Driver's LicenseGeneral understanding of water and wastewater treatment plant operations preferred.Maintain a 40-hour work week – Monday-Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pmMust be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed on an occasional basisAbility to safely and effectively work within confined spaces, as demonstrated through completion of NSU's specialized training programAbility to safely handle chemical exposures, as demonstrated through completion of NSU's training program in proper handling and safety protocols risksExposure and ability to work under all weather conditionsBasic computer skillsPhysical Demands and Work Environment:Frequently required to standFrequently required to walkFrequently required to sitFrequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterityFrequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawlOccasionally required to talk or hearFrequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboardOccasionally required to lift/push/carry items less than 25 pounds/ up to 25 pounds/ up to 50 pounds/ more than 50 poundsFrequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)Frequently work near moving mechanical partsOccasionally work in high, precarious placesOccasionally/ work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicalsFrequently exposed to outside weather conditionsOccasionally exposed to extreme heat or cold (non-weather)Occasionally exposed to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materialsFrequently exposed to loud noise (examples: metal can manufacturing, large earth-moving equipment)Frequently exposed to very loud noise (example: jack hammer work)What We Offer:Top-Tier Benefits: We offer comprehensive medical, vision, and dental insurance to keep you and your family healthy.Employer-Paid Basic Life Insurance: Your peace of mind matters, and we provide employer-paid life insurance to protect you and your loved ones.Disability Coverage: With both short-term and long-term disability coverage, you can feel secure knowing you're supported during difficult times.Tuition Reimbursement: We are committed to helping you enhance your career.
