Pediatrician – Outpatient Primary Care

Gadsden, Alabama | $200,000–$245,000 Base Salary | Monday–Friday | No Weekends

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $200,000–$245,000, based on experience

• NHSC Loan Repayment: Eligible

• Paid Time Off: 15 vacation days, 5 sick days, and 11 paid holidays, including your birthday

• CME: 5 dedicated CME days + $2,500 annual allowance

• Retirement: 401(k) with profit sharing and a 50% match, up to 4%

• Relocation Assistance: Up to $5,000 with a 2-year commitment

• Insurance: Medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, LTD, AD&D, and term life

• Schedule: Monday–Friday

• No Weekends: No weekend clinic hours

• No Hospital Rounds: Outpatient-focused position with no hospital coverage

• Call: Light, phone-only call rotation

Position Overview

The Pediatrician will provide comprehensive outpatient care to infants, children, and adolescents in a collaborative, multidisciplinary primary care setting.

The role includes preventive care, well-child visits, immunizations, developmental screenings, acute illness management, chronic disease management, and family education.

You will work alongside a supportive clinical team to provide accessible, high-quality care while helping improve the health and well-being of children and families throughout the Gadsden community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric care from infancy through adolescence

• Perform well-child examinations, developmental assessments, immunizations, and routine screenings

• Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and manage chronic pediatric conditions

• Provide anticipatory guidance and educate parents and caregivers on nutrition, development, treatment plans, and preventive health

• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other members of the care team

• Supervise and delegate clinical tasks while maintaining responsibility for patient care and outcomes

• Participate in peer review, Quality Management, and quality improvement initiatives

• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and appropriate clinical documentation and coding

• Participate in community health education and outreach activities

• Participate in a light, phone-only call rotation

Qualifications

• Education: MD or DO, or foreign medical degree equivalent

• Residency: Successful completion of an accredited Pediatrics residency program

• Board Certification: Board Certified in Pediatrics preferred; Board Eligible required

• Licensure: Active, unrestricted Alabama medical license or eligibility to obtain one

• EMR: Proficiency with electronic medical records

• Experience: Outpatient pediatric experience preferred
