HR Generalist – Recruiting & Talent Sourcing

TheHomeMag is growing, and growth requires talented people, particularly strong salespeople. We have leaders who can interview, evaluate and close the right candidates. What we need is someone relentlessly focused on ensuring those leaders always have the right people to talk to.

Internally, we call this person our People Lead Generator. This is an HR Generalist role with a significant emphasis on recruiting support, talent sourcing and recruiting coordination. You may conduct very few formal interviews and rarely, if ever, meet candidates face-to-face.

You own the pipeline and our hiring leaders own the hiring decision.

What You'll Do

This isn't a post-the-job-and-wait recruiting role. You'll actively find people, including candidates who haven't applied to TheHomeMag and may not know we're looking for them yet.

You'll:

· Assist in creating, placing, and managing job postings across ZipRecruiter, Indeed, LinkedIn and other platforms.

· Review and screen incoming applicants quickly and consistently.

· Search candidate and resume databases for people who haven't applied.

· Mine current and previous applicant pools for overlooked candidates.

· Build targeted candidate lists for specific markets and positions.

· Conduct warm, proactive candidate outreach.

· Re-engage promising previous candidates.

· Coordinate interviews, calendars and candidate communication.

· Prepare candidate information for our hiring decision makers.

· Maintain accurate candidate records, pipelines and recruiting dashboards.

· Coordinate Culture Index type assessments and other pre-hire requirements.

· Support offers, onboarding and other recruiting logistics.

Job boards aren't simply places to advertise openings. They're databases filled with potential candidates. We want someone who learns how to work those platforms deeply and proactively.

Warm Them Up

Finding someone is only part of the job. You're incredibly warm, engaging and comfortable talking with people you've never met. You know how to turn cold outreach into a comfortable conversation and create genuine interest in TheHomeMag. You may be someone's first interaction with our company, and that first impression matters.

By the time a strong candidate reaches one of our hiring leaders, they should know who we are, why we're interested and why the next conversation is worth having. You're not necessarily the closer. You make the candidate ready for the closer.

Get Really Good at AI

AI proficiency is important to this role, but so is understanding AI's purpose. We don't use AI to create our original thoughts, replace human judgment or make decisions for us. We use it to make good people substantially more efficient. You'll become self-proficient at prompting AI and finding new ways to use it throughout your workday.

That may include using AI to:

· Work through large candidate pools more efficiently.

· Surface candidates who might otherwise be overlooked.

· Identify people who may be a more immediate fit.

· Compare experience against our hiring criteria.

· Develop and refine searches.

· Prioritize prospects.

· Research candidate backgrounds.

· Improve and personalize outreach.

· Handle routine recruiting and administrative work faster.

AI gives you leverage so you can spend more time doing what only you can do, talking to people, building relationships and warming up great candidates.

Learn What Great Looks Like

You'll become proficient in TheHomeMag's Culture Index profiles and hiring criteria and develop a strong understanding of what successful people in our organization look like. Over time, we expect you to become exceptionally good at recognizing which candidates deserve a closer look.

Welcome Our New People

When someone joins TheHomeMag, you'll also help introduce them to our entire system. You'll gather a little about who they are, where they're coming from and what they'll be doing, then turn it into a warm introduction. Not a typical HR announcement, but rather a welcome.

HR Generalist Support

Beyond recruiting, you'll assist our SVP of Human Resources with broader HR responsibilities, including onboarding and offboarding and potentially employee records, policy administration, Culture Index, and other day-to-day non-Payroll and non-benefits HR needs.

What We're Looking For

You may already be an HR Generalist, recruiting coordinator, talent sourcer or recruiter. Experience that would give you a head start includes:

· Recruiting or talent-sourcing experience.

· Managing job ads on ZipRecruiter, Indeed and LinkedIn.

· Searching candidate databases beyond inbound applicants.

· Proactive candidate outreach.

· ATS or recruiting-pipeline management.

· Culture Index or similar behavioral tools.

· Recruiting field-based B2B salespeople.

· Using AI and effective prompting to improve your productivity.

More important is how you work. You're warm, curious, organized, persistent and resourceful. You're comfortable reaching out to strangers. You like searching, investigating, and learning technology quickly. And if you don't know how to do something, you don't wait around for someone to show you. You research it. Talk to your peers. You ask AI. You experiment. You figure it out.

How We'll Measure Success

This is an activity-and-results role. Candidates sourced > candidates contacted > candidates engaged > qualified candidates advanced > interviews generated > hires made.

We don't need another person checking job applications when they have time to get around to it. We need someone consistently finding the next person we should meet. Find them. Warm them. Organize them, tee them up, and keep the process moving.
