Job Overview Title: Employee Assistance Counselor – Employee Assistance Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER, CLEVELAND, OH Biweekly Hours: 80.00 Shift: Monday‑Friday Responsibilities Assist employees and their families in resolving professional and personal issues. Rapidly assess an employee’s needs and develop an appropriate treatment plan. Perform assessments, short‑term counseling, motivational interviewing, clinical triage, and/or referral to appropriate treatment and community resources. Demonstrate competency in the various EAP roles of job performance coach, clinical counselor, and group facilitator. Conduct employee educational sessions. Serve as a credible and knowledgeable consultant to management for employee issues. Respond to organizational needs in a complex, rapidly changing, performance‑driven environment. Foster partnerships across the Metro Health System to deliver value‑added services to other departments and support business objectives. Uphold mission, vision, values, and customer service standards. Qualifications Required: Master’s Degree in the Mental Health Field Independent Licensure as a Mental Health Professional (LISW or LPCC) Five years of experience with mental health and/or chemical dependency treatment, or an Employee Assistance Program Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills Experience working with diverse populations Ability to comfortably interact with employees, managers, directors, and leadership at all levels of the organization Ability to professionally represent MetroHealth to organizations within the community Preferred: Ten years of relevant experience Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation (LPCC‑S) Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision Designation (LISW‑S) Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) Physical Requirements May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. View within the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear within the normal auditory range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment, including typing. May need to lift up to twenty‑five (25) pounds on occasion.
