Schedule: Day Shift | 6:30 AM 7:00 PM | 12-Hour Shifts

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department (ED) for a 13-week contract opportunity in Utica, New York. The RN will provide high-acuity emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population including newborns, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients .

The Emergency Department manages patients presenting with conditions including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure . Previous travel nursing experience, pediatric ED experience, Epic proficiency, and flexibility to float are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid assessments, triage patients, and provide emergency nursing care across newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.

• Stabilize and manage patients presenting with stroke, sepsis, trauma, cardiac emergencies, respiratory failure, and other acute or life-threatening conditions.

• Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions while utilizing specialized equipment including Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun systems.

• Provide care to all assigned Emergency Department patients, including SANE-related patient assignments, while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic and float to other appropriate clinical areas based on patient-care and staffing needs.

Requirements

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) License Required at Time of Submission.

• Minimum 2 Years of Recent Emergency Department Experience Required, Including Pediatric Experience.

• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certifications Required.

• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and TNCC Certifications Required; TNCC Must Be Active at Time of Submission.

• Previous Travel Nursing Experience and Epic Experience Required; Charge Nurse Capability Highly Preferred.

The Emergency Department RN will provide responsive, skilled, and patient-centered emergency care while supporting safe outcomes across a high-acuity and diverse patient population.
