Under the general direction of the Director of SARC, the Student Achievement and Resources Center Assistant is responsible for completing administrative duties and serving as first point of contact for all students needing services provided by the SARC. This will also include performing administrative duties to assist other staff and faculty(ESL). This position supervises floor activity with students coming to the SARC to study, use computers, or who are part of athletic study halls. This position will require one evening per week to supervise front desk and the SARC floor.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of SARC with daily operations and special projects.
• Assist with recruiting, scheduling and supervising peer tutors.
• Serve as primary point of contact for students, faculty, and visitors.
• Perform general office and administrative duties, including answering phones, sorting mail, preparing copies, greeting visitors, giving SARC tours, and routing calls.
• Coordinate and assist with all SARC meetings, workshops, events, training sessions and travel arrangements.
• Assist with budget preparation by maintaining financial records, processing requisitions, verifying invoices, and monitoring expenditures.
• Order and track supplies as needed.
• Maintain bulletin boards with current information.
• Maintain organized and professional workspaces, including the storeroom, copy area, study room, computer labs, and open areas.
• Assist with developing and coordinating tutoring schedules, study room and computer labs schedules and room reservations.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of student success initiatives, outreach activities, and campus events.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED
• Strong communication and organizational skills;
• Extensive computer and office equipment experience
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, students and the community
• Able to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Obtain and maintain a valid Kansas Driver’s License
• Work one evening per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree
• Bilingual English and Spanish

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Tutors/Front Desk Work Study Students and other students in the SARC

Physical Requirements: With or without assistance

• Ability to hear informational speaker in conversational voice at a distance of 10 feet and by telephone.
• Ability to speak clearly and audibly to individuals in person and on the telephone.
• Ability to stretch, bend, stoop, and kneel as required to perform the duties of this position.
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to access classroom, office, and other school locations.
• Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds.
• Ability to do any physical work assigned.

Building Assignment

• Science and Math Building
