Job Summary The Associate Director for Administrative Services assists in leading strategic planning initiatives for the STEM Transformation Institute (including research and project development), implementation of critical initiatives and projects of the Institute, and assists in managing the institute's public presence and internal programming. This position reports to the Director of the STEM Transformation Institute. Leads external-facing efforts to develop and grow strategic partnerships of the STEM Institute with units throughout the University in order to attain Institute goals and objectives. Responsible for liaison activities among key units and collaborating departments (e.g., ORED, Academic Affairs, Offices of the Provost and President, etc.) Identifies and develops opportunities to showcase STEM Transformation Institute projects, products or initiatives, develop the STEM institute's public presence, and craft corresponding messaging and language for internal and external dissemination. Assists with coordination of press releases for new projects and noteworthy Institute updates. Assists in the preparation of reports and other dissemination products that communicate the goals and achievements of the Institute for external or internal reporting. Provides administrative leadership and management to the Institute, including developing and implementing policies, procedures, and programming for faculty and trainees. Participates in strategic planning, staffing decisions, policy development, and other key areas. Recommends policies relating to assigned area(s) of responsibility. Supervises and coaches professional and support staff, establish goals, identify professional development opportunities and evaluate performance. Oversees the development, implementation, and interpretation of operating procedures. Performs essential duties in emergencies such as hurricanes, storms, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification from a department administrator. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and six (6) years of appropriate experience, or Master's degree and four (4) years of experience.
