Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for Day Shift RN in Emergency Care!

Job Description:
- Provide direct and indirect patient care in a dynamic emergency care setting.
- Exhibit initiative, flexibility, and responsibility with minimal supervision.
- Safely triage patients rapidly and accurately upon entry into the emergency care system.
- Determine priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs.
- Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patient status and diagnostic results.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient conditions.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care and evaluate outcomes.
- Consult with specialists and adjust nursing care processes for optimal patient care.
- Conduct thorough head-to-toe assessments and reassessments as per policy for all age groups.
- Assess and manage patient pain effectively, educating patients and families.
- Optimize patient safety and minimize healthcare errors.
- Monitor hemodynamic status and interpret results accurately.
- Identify and treat cardiac dysrhythmias.
- Assign appropriate triage categories and maintain accurate nursing documentation.
- Treat patients and families with respect and dignity, addressing all psychosocial needs.
- Function as a liaison among administration, patients, physicians, and healthcare providers.
- Maintain current knowledge of medications and their administration.
- Prepare, hang, and monitor IV fluids.
- Uphold departmental policies, performance improvement programs, and safety standards.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Participate in cost containment by managing supplies and completing patient charges.
- Work collaboratively with personnel to achieve departmental objectives.
- Assist physicians with procedures in the Emergency Department.
- Lead and supervise staff, training new employees as needed.
- Engage in performance improvement activities and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school with at least one (1) year of critical care experience; emergency room experience preferred.
- Current RN license in California.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic computer knowledge.
