Summary:

• Develops conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs of aircraft and spacecraft structural configuration layouts.

• Creates components or portions of functional systems to develop or improve products and support manufacturing operations.

• Integrates vehicle systems into structural designs.

• Creates and releases detailed 3D parts, assemblies, installations, and drawings.

• Develops technical solutions to complex structural design problems requiring ingenuity and creativity.

• Coordinates with engineering stakeholders during design, production, integration, test, delivery, and operation.

• Supports production and operations teams for vehicle readiness including fabrication, implementation, and MRB activities.

• Uses CAD software and composite workbenches to design aircraft and spacecraft structures and components.

• Applies GD&T per ASME Y14.5, functional tolerancing, drawing creation, and assembly tolerance stack-up analysis.

• Uses Product Lifecycle Management tools, requirements management tools, and configuration management for design activities.

Requirements:

• Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

• 9+ years of experience in the aerospace industry with a strong design emphasis.

• Experience designing aircraft or spacecraft primary and secondary structures.

• Experience designing for vehicle systems integration accommodation.

• Significant experience using CAD software and composite workbenches to design aircraft or spacecraft structures and components.

• Experience with GD&T per ASME Y14.5, functional tolerancing, drawing creation, and assembly tolerance stack-up analysis.

• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools, requirements management tools, and configuration management.

• Material Review Board (MRB) experience.

• Preferred: Experience with CATIA V5 and/or CATIA 3DX, CATIA V5 CPD, FiberSIM, composite aircraft structural design, bonded composite structures, and design to CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23, Part 25, military, or NASA standards.
