Custodian
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
Location: Portsmouth, VA

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable Custodian to help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of a residential housing community. This position is primarily responsible for keeping common areas, grounds, and facilities clean, safe, and presentable for residents and visitors.

Responsibilities
Clean and maintain common areas, offices, hallways, and restrooms
Sweep, vacuum, and perform general custodial duties as needed
Pick up trash and debris throughout the property
Empty trash receptacles and maintain clean grounds and walkways
Assist with moving supplies and other light labor tasks as needed
Distribute notices, flyers, or other information throughout the property
Follow safety guidelines and maintain a safe work environment

Qualifications
Previous custodial, janitorial, or cleaning experience preferred
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Positive attitude and ability to work well with residents and coworkers

Physical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors for most of the day
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the shift
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Comfortable working in various weather conditions
