About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 18 months in specialty within the past 3 years License: GA or compact license required Certifications: ACLS required Must-Have: - Candidates must have experience with post-operative cardiac surgery patients. - Rhythm identification test will be required upon start, with two attempts available. - Ventilator experience is not required, but knowledge of LVADs is preferred. Description: This unit operates similarly to an ICU but is classified as an advanced progressive care unit due to nurse-patient ratios. The unit cares for patients 24 hours post CABG cardiac surgery and will manage chest tubes. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4 or 1:5. Candidates must be prepared for a rhythm identification test. ACLS certification is required prior to starting. Ventilator experience is not mandatory, as training on LVADs will be provided.
