Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) with a passion for emergency medicine to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude, compassion for patients, and a commitment to teamwork. This position requires a strong self-starter who is willing to engage in continuous learning.

Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years in an Emergency Department
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend

Certifications Required

• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• PALS Certification
• TNCC Certification
• NIHSS Certification

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care to patients of all age groups.
• Assess patients for common diagnoses, including chest pain, abdominal pain, and stroke.
• Administer treatments, including IV medications and emergency protocols.
• Utilize TeleHealth services and engage in purposeful rounding.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, which includes charge nurses.

Clinical Environment

• Trauma Level: Certified Stroke Center
• Number of Beds: 18
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 based on acuity
• Common Drips: Antibiotics, narcotics, anti-emetics, and emergency medications
• EMR System: EPIC
• IV Pumps: Alaris

Additional Information

• Orientation: 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation will be provided.
• Fingernail Policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in departments providing patient care.
• RTO (requests for time off) should be provided upfront (7 or fewer days over a 13-week contract).
• Applicants within a 50-mile radius are eligible; candidates must not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with associated facilities.
