We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for a Stepdown Unit in Auburn, New York. This travel/contract position offers guaranteed 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend and holiday shifts. As a Stepdown RN, you will provide care to patients recovering from serious illnesses, including those with conditions such as congestive heart failure, post-heart catheterization, cardiac dysrhythmias, and respiratory failure. Key responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, IV start and maintenance, PICC line management, blood product administration, and post-procedure monitoring. Additional duties involve assisting with chest tube insertion/removal and managing BiPAP/CPAP equipment. Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required. A strong foundation in cardiac, respiratory, and neurological care, along with skills in infection prevention and isolation precautions, will be vital for success in this role.
