Job Description Do you have experience working in a shelter environment? \n \n We are currently in search of a Program Director for a Housing-First Nonprofit. The position is based in Queens, NY. This is a full-time, permanent position. \n \n ORGANIZATION TYPE: Housing-First Nonprofit \n LOCATION: Queens, NY \n POSITION TITLE: Program Director \n SCHEDULE: Full-time \n DURATION: Permanent \n ANNUAL SALARY: $95,000 - $100,000 \n \n \n Is This Your Dream Job? The Program Director is responsible for the overall administration of a 200 bed women’s homeless shelter. This role provides leadership for the day-to-day operation of the facility, as well as program accountability to ensure service goals are met or exceeded. The Program Director will report to and work closely with the Assistant Vice President, Services to ensure that relationships are developed with the local elected officials. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and relationship builder with prior experience supervising and working in a shelter. \n \n \n Our Ideal Candidate: \n · 2 years of experience working in a shelter environment required \n · Bachelor’s degree required \n · Experience in program management required \n · Understanding of residential operations \n · Excellent verbal and written communication skills \n \n How You Will Spend Your Day: \n · Oversees all program operations to ensure success of the program in meeting client needs. \n · Ensures compliance with DHS outcomes regarding placements, long term stayers, placement retention, facility standards, as well as the organization’s performance and quality assurance measurements. \n · Oversees process, census, vocational services, case management, facilities and housing placement services. \n · Ensures operations follow regulatory requirements (State OTDA/DHS/hiring organization). \n · Provides leadership, direction and direct supervision to management staff, including Director of Social Services, Security Manager, and permanent housing placement staff ensuring support is in place to ensure the success of the shelter. Assigns driving schedule to the site driver. \n · Hires and reviews performance of all management staff. \n · Interfaces with the community, neighborhood associations and other local service providers. \n · Experience in facilitating and leading a Community Advisory Board (CAB) \n · Drives and monitors program results \n · Completes program status reports \n · Creates and monitors program corrective action plans when needed \n · Other duties as assigned. \n \n \n We’d love to hear from you. \n \n \n If this sounds like the job for you, we would love to help make that happen.
