About the Role
The Company is seeking a Deputy General Counsel with a focus on litigation to join their dynamic legal team. This role is pivotal in the establishment of a new function within the organization, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to build and lead a team, and to shape the operational and strategic aspects of the role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigating restrictive covenant matters, including non-compete, non-solicitation, and confidentiality disputes, and will be adept at advising on pre-hire and post-hire candidate counseling, particularly in high-risk or competitive scenarios. Responsibilities include leading all aspects of litigation, from strategy to resolution, and providing critical input on litigation strategy across the organization. The role also involves close collaboration with business leaders to identify and mitigate legal risks, as well as the development of effective dispute resolution strategies. Applicants for this position at the company should have a JD from an accredited school, an active license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, and a minimum of 8 years' of relevant litigation experience, with a preference for those with a background in the insurance industry. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in the courtroom, the ability to manage both internal and external legal resources, and a strategic approach to legal risk management. The successful candidate will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask effectively, and demonstrate the highest level of judgment, ethical conduct, and integrity.
