The teacher will ensure continuous improvement in state and national performance levels and prepare students for college and careers in a global society.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Implement 21st Century Skills into the curriculum. Work full duty days in assigned locations. Assess student abilities related to educational goals and outcomes. Plan and employ appropriate instruction/learning strategies and activities. Manage classroom behavior and participate in site-wide behavior management. Communicate with students and parents about instructional expectations and progress. Maintain assessment and evaluation documentation for reporting. Collaborate with program personnel to plan instructional goals and curriculum. Participate in professional growth activities, staff meetings, in-service training. Maintain records and reports of student progress. Create a safe, attractive, and conducive learning environment. Participate in extracurricular activities as requested by the principal. Attend IEP meetings for IDEA students. Demonstrate knowledge of content, curriculum, and instructional methods. Apply knowledge of student growth and development for the grade level. Stay current on research and theory in teaching. Plan and implement lessons aligned with curriculum objectives. Build effective relationships with students, parents, and peers; act as family advocate. Communicate clearly in oral and written form. Exhibit excellent human relations skills. Maintain physical and emotional ability to perform required work in a dynamic environment. Move around classroom to monitor student work and behavior. Maintain patience, caring, and dedication to student success. Take attendance and maintain registers per Board policy. Know Section 504 and IDEA amendments. Remain courteous and professional; maintain neat appearance. Perform other duties as assigned. Communication & Organization Maintain communication with school personnel, parents, and guardians to enhance cooperation to meet students’ educational needs. Utilize existing technology effectively. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and interpret varied instructions. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations; write reports and curriculum materials; present information and respond to inquiries from administrators, staff, parents, students, and the public. Salary Information Salary schedule: FLSA Status Exempt. Report To Director of Libraries and Building Principal. Evaluation Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board of Education policy.
