Staff Accountant – Enrolled Agent (EA)Location: Raleigh, NC – North Hills AreaPay: $27-$31/hour, based on experienceSchedule: 25–35 hours per week | Flexible ScheduleWork Arrangement: Hybrid after successful completion of onsite trainingWe are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant who is a licensed Enrolled Agent (EA) or is actively pursuing EA licensure with expected completion within the next six months. CPA-licensed candidates will also be considered.This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working directly with small business clients and wants the flexibility and personal environment of a smaller accounting practice.Responsibilities:Manage accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of small business clientsPrepare and review monthly financial statementsPerform bookkeeping, reconciliations and journal entriesWork extensively in QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks DesktopConsult with clients regarding financial performance and tax planningPrepare monthly, quarterly and annual compliance filingsAssist with payroll, sales/use tax, W-2s, 1099s and property tax filingsAssist with tax preparation and tax notice resolutionSupport preparation of corporate tax returnsReview bookkeeping/accounting work and assist other team members as neededMaintain fixed assets and accurate client recordsIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencyQualifications:Enrolled Agent (EA) license strongly preferredCandidates actively pursuing their EA with expected completion within six months will be considered3+ years of accounting, bookkeeping and compliance reporting experience3+ years of QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop3+ years of tax accounting experienceStrong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations and general accountingExperience working directly with small business clients strongly preferredBachelor's degree or equivalent experience; accounting concentration preferred but not requiredStrong communication, organization and problem-solving skillsComfortable learning and utilizing accounting technologyThis is a long-term opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who wants to build strong relationships with small business clients while continuing to grow professionally.
