Pack Line Packer

Job Summary

The Pack Line Production employee is responsible for packing and handling salmon products on the production line in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner. This position performs various production tasks, including packing 4 oz. and 8 oz. salmon products, placing salmon onto the production line, bringing down and staging packs, and assisting with other production lines and tasks as needed. The employee works closely with Production, Quality, and other departments to ensure products are handled properly and production goals are met while following company food safety, GMP, quality, and safety requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Pack salmon products according to established product specifications, procedures, and production requirements.
• Pack and handle 4 oz. and 8 oz. salmon products accurately and efficiently.
• Place salmon onto the production line to maintain a consistent and efficient flow of product.
• Bring down finished packs from the production line and properly stage or organize product as directed.
• Inspect products and packaging for proper appearance, labeling, packaging, and overall quality.
• Follow established production procedures and product specifications to ensure consistency and quality.
• Maintain proper product handling practices to prevent contamination, damage, or product loss.
• Assist with other production lines and departments as needed to support daily operations.
• Follow production schedules, work instructions, and directions provided by supervisors and leads.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift.
• Follow all company GMP, food safety, sanitation, and safety requirements.
• Properly use required PPE and follow all safety procedures.
• Report product quality concerns, damaged product, equipment issues, or other problems to the appropriate supervisor or lead.
• Communicate effectively with Production, Quality, and other departments regarding product or production concerns.
• Assist with changeovers, line setup, cleanup, and other production activities as assigned.
• Follow proper procedures for handling and moving product throughout the production area.
• Perform other production-related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

· Previous experience in food manufacturing or food production environment.

· Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and food safety practices.

· Previous experience with food packaging or production lines.

· Experience handling seafood or other food products.

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

· Strong attention to detail when handling product and packaging.

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

· Ability to work independently while also communicating effectively with other employees and departments.

· Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.

Physical Requirements

· Regularly stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.

· Ability to regularly bend, reach, push, pull, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.

· Ability to lift and move product, packaging materials, and supplies as required.

· Ability to repeatedly handle and pack salmon products throughout the shift.

· Ability to work at a production line for extended periods.

· Ability to perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements associated with packing and handling product.

· Ability to work in refrigerated/chilled production areas as required.

· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as required by the position.

Compensation details: 17.15-17.5 Hourly Wage
