In‑store experiences include Girl and Doll Salons, full‑service restaurants, personal shopping, ear piercing, hosting parties, and more. The Opportunity The Café Lead is located at the American Girl Retail NYC location and reports directly to the Restaurant Manager. This position assists the restaurant manager with daily operations, providing leadership and direction to the department, and delivering a high level of selling and customer service to American Girl guests. What Your Impact Will Be Support the Restaurant Leadership Team in overseeing staffing, hiring, coaching/training, purchasing/vendor relations, inventories, maintaining food/beverage service standards, and ensuring safety and sanitation standards. Assist the team in achieving department revenue and expense goals. Ensure customer satisfaction with their dining experience and oversee resolution of any customer service issues. Ensure food quality and consistency, accommodate special requests and dietary needs, and perform tasks in the absence of the Restaurant Leadership Team. Work with Restaurant and Store Management teams to deliver exceptional events and programs. Maintain ongoing communications with both staff and management. Maintain and troubleshoot operational issues, including restaurant/kitchen equipment, reservation systems, POS, and software systems. Lead by example in all areas of the business. What We’re Looking For Restaurant experience in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment, with exposure to both front and back‑of‑house operations. Experience working with children. Current State Sanitation Certification, ServSafe, and Safe Alcohol Consumption Certification. Strong working knowledge of Eatec system, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), reservation systems, POS systems, inventory systems, and basic office equipment. Ability to perform diverse physical tasks, including constant walking and standing, and some heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs). Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
