Registered Nurse – Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP/OB)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-hour rotating shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | Shift coverage may include holidays, weekends, and occasional labor call; overtime may be available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across both Labor & Delivery and Postpartum settings, supporting patients through the full perinatal continuum including labor support, delivery, recovery, and newborn assessment
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in alignment with current evidence-based guidelines and the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act
• Deliver culturally sensitive education to patients and families, supporting health literacy and successful transitions of care
• Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the broader interdisciplinary care team; participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Current New Mexico RN license or active Multi-State Compact (eNLC) license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (or equivalent) required
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Must be able and willing to work in both L&D and Postpartum departments

Preferred Experience / Skills

• SAFER NM Technician certification preferred
• OPS Emergency Workshop and STABLE certification (required within 12 months of hire)
• Experience with sterile technique and sterile field maintenance in a perinatal setting
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
