Research Associate, Department of Neurology & Rehabilitation Medicine Job Overview The Department of Neurology & Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking a full‑time Research Associate. The Research Associate will manage past and new data from existing large‑scale studies, including epidemiologic, genetic/molecular, and neuroimaging data. Essential Functions Development and management of clinical epidemiology and clinical trial databases, including data entry, quality control checks, database management, and development of analysis datasets in multiple formats such as SAS/SPSS, along with backups. Database management, including creation of data entry screens, dataset development for statistical analyses, quality control, removal of HIPAA identifiers, and translation between systems. Perform statistical analysis for manuscript preparation, such as multivariate analysis. Generate data from multiple sources, combine and harmonize them into a single master dataset, conduct final data analysis, and draw inferences from the results. Maintain and manage existing datasets while incorporating new datasets as they are generated. Conduct biostatistical analyses for quality control and for manuscript/abstract/grant preparation, including power/sample size estimation and univariate and multivariate analyses. Organize data search and analysis procedures. Assist in establishing test controls, criteria, and research standards by coordinating with the colony manager and implementing existing research protocols. Design complex data processing systems to analyze research data. Provide guidance on performing experiments and executing experimental protocols of the animal colony for exempt and non‑exempt staff. Required Education Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field. Required Experience In‑depth knowledge of a specialized field, process, or discipline. May require experience with specialized software programs.
