RTC based in Bellefontaine, OH is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that assists individuals by providing services to promote employment, community connections, and independence in life. We specialize in helping individuals with disabilities. We were founded in 1970 and have continued to expand our services throughout the years as we have grown.

Position Summary

RTC Services is hiring a full-time Support Specialist ($16.50/hr) in Bellefontaine, OH. This entry-level role exists to provide instruction, supervision, and hands-on assistance so individuals with disabilities can build skills and maintain safety.

Key responsibilities include providing personal care (including continence care and assistance with restroom needs, eating, and changing clothes), planning and carrying out activities, implementing individual plans, completing daily documentation, and safely lifting/moving/positioning individuals according to training.

Required qualifications/skills:
- Age 18+
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Ohio driver’s license
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities preferred

Your day runs onsite within a consistent weekday routine, balancing structured support with real-time needs. You’ll spend time coaching life skills and work skills, assisting with activities of daily living, and helping individuals participate in the community. Some days include transportation between locations, while others focus more on personal care and maintaining comfort and dignity. Throughout the shift, you’ll stay attentive to safety, communicate clearly with the team, and keep timely notes so each person’s progress and needs are accurately reflected.
