Overview

We have a client located in Tonawanda NY looking to hire a machinist to join their team at their production facility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Quality and Precision: Inspect completed work using appropriate precision measuring tools and equipment to verify dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications and quality standards.

• Troubleshoot and Solve Problems: Identify and troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues and develop practical solutions to keep work moving and minimize downtime.

• Support Mechanical Assembly: Perform minor mechanical repairs, fabrication, equipment assembly, and related shop activities as needed to support daily production requirements.

• Maintain a Safe and Organized Workplace: Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient machine shop while ensuring tools, equipment, and work areas are properly maintained and ready for use.

• Promote a Safety-First Culture: Follow established safety procedures, identify potential hazards, and contribute to a safe and productive working environment.

• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with production, engineering, and technical teams to coordinate daily activities, resolve issues, and support efficient shop operations.

• Support Specialized Projects: Participate in turbomachinery, rotating equipment, CNC machining, and other specialized projects as opportunities arise based on your skills, experience, and technical interests.

Requirements

• Must have experience using manual lathes, grinders and burnishing equipment

• Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and equipment
