Smoky Mountain Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable and motivated Dietary Cook to join our Food & Nutrition Services team.

Healthcare experience is not required! Candidates with cooking or food service experience in restaurants, hotels, hospitality, catering, senior living, hospitals, schools, or institutional kitchens are encouraged to apply.

As a Dietary Cook , you'll prepare nutritious and appetizing meals while helping create an enjoyable dining experience for our residents.

Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, recipes, and resident dietary needs

• Prepare regular and specialized diets as directed

• Ensure meals are properly portioned, presented, and served on time

• Follow food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and regulatory guidelines

• Monitor and document food temperatures as required

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area

• Assist with food preparation, inventory, and stock rotation

• Receive, organize, and properly store food and supplies

• Assist with maintaining adequate food and kitchen supplies

• Work collaboratively with Dietary, Nursing, and other facility team members

• Help provide residents with a positive and enjoyable dining experience

• Previous cook, kitchen, restaurant, hospitality, catering, healthcare, or institutional food service experience preferred

• Knowledge of basic food preparation, food safety, and sanitation practices

• ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain if required

• Dependable with strong organizational and time-management skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements of the position
