Business Analyst

Business AnalystAmeriLife is in the midst of an exciting and significant transformation of its operational infrastructure to better serve the evolving needs of its stakeholders across the country. As such, we're looking for a Business Analyst to help us continue pushing our ambitious roadmap forward. This role will join our Agency Operations team with a strong business focus on operational efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and continuous process improvement.In this role, the Business Analyst will partner closely with business leaders and stakeholders to understand operational needs, proactively analyze data and trends, and translate insights into meaningful recommendations that improve processes, strengthen controls, enhance customer and agent experiences, and support business growth. This position requires a balance of business acumen, analytical thinking, and systems knowledge to identify opportunities, define requirements, support solution design, and help drive measurable improvements across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirementsLead, mentor and coach team members and business partners on industry, business and system development subject matterProactively analyze data and operational trends to identify insights, risks, and process improvement opportunities that drive efficiency and business outcomesConduct, coach or assist in scope definition and discovery on functional, conversion, technical and integration changesDocument business requirements and/or user stories and acceptance criteria for review and approvals by stakeholdersMaintain detailed documentation for system processes and user manualsCreate or improve innovative system design that meets business needs; identify business, financial, technical, reporting and operational risks and impactsComplete or assist with work estimation, prioritization and release managementConduct or contribute to system configuration and development activitiesCreate test conditions, test plans, test data, pre-determined results and test casesEnsure system functionality meets business requirementsConduct or assist business partners with training development, support user acceptance testing and implementation effortsAssist with business process improvement and re-engineering activities, user procedures and trainingEnsure compliance with industry regulations and data security standardsAssist with or conduct project management activitiesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, related field or5+ years of demonstrated experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Business AnalystExperience in one or more of these industries: Annuities, Health and/or Life Insurance, Retirement or other financial servicesExperience supporting web portals, quoting tools and low code/no code platforms preferredDetail-oriented with strong problem-solving, analytic, communication, writing and presentation skillsExcellent communications skills - ability to communicate clearly and concisely on a professional level with the ability to adapt to audiences of varying technical skill levelsProficiency in business and data analysis and reporting tools/methodologies (ie Excel, Tableau, Power BI)Familiarity with project management principles and agile methodologiesFlexible and patient, can demonstrate command of new ideas, is effect on concurrent projects, works independently as well as effectively as a member of a team that includes multiple level of organization with varying experiences levels
